Age decides a lot of it too – spending real money on a tank in its fifteenth year is throwing good money after bad, and we’d rather tell you that than take the job.

Newer Hammond Park homes were typically handed over with a continuous flow gas unit, and the first wave of those is now old enough to fail. Good news is the pipework is modern, so a replacement is usually a clean swap in the same position.
