Welcome to Splash and Gas

If you’ve landed on this page you’re most likely looking at a problem in a house right now. Short version: we’re a licensed plumbing and gas business, we work across the whole metro area, we answer the phone after hours, and there’s no call out fee between 7am and 4pm Monday to Friday.

The longer version is further down the page – what we do, what tends to go wrong in homes around here, and what’s worth knowing before you hire anybody.

Paulls Valley is a longer run for us – about 35 minutes from Success – so it pays to ring 0410 217 090 first. A lot can be diagnosed and quoted over the phone, with photos by text or email, before anybody drives anywhere.

The Local Housing Stock, and Your Pipes

Paulls Valley is hills country, and that shapes the work – what a property is connected to matters just as much as how old the house is.

The practical issues are ground, distance and services. Rock makes excavation expensive, driveways are long, and if the property runs on a pump rather than mains pressure then shutting the water off in an emergency means killing the power too. Cold mornings also mean the hot water system works harder for more of the year.

Rock making any excavation slower and dearer
Harder, longer work for the hot water system each winter
Bottled LPG rather than reticulated natural gas on many streets
Septic tanks and treatment units instead of deep sewer

We’re not saying every Paulls Valley property has these problems. We’re saying they’re the ones we find around here, which is why the first thing we do is look properly.

Gas Plumber Paulls Valley

Gas Appliance Servicing Paulls Valley
Gas appliances don’t fail with a bang. A burner that’s drifted rich, a blocked flue, a perished hose behind the oven – none of it announces itself, and all of it gets worse over a winter.

An open-flued gas heater that isn’t venting properly can spill combustion products back into the room, which is exactly why those appliances want checking by a licensed gas fitter rather than being assumed fine because they still light. Splash and Gas service gas appliances right across the area, and if something has genuinely reached the end we’ll tell you so rather than sell you a repair that buys a month.

Up on the scarp around Paulls Valley, two things change. Reticulated natural gas doesn’t reach every street, so a good share of properties run on bottled LPG – and with bushfire risk to think about, bottle siting, clearance and line protection are worth getting properly right rather than near enough.

Appliance Changeovers

Outdoor BBQ Gas Lines Paulls Valley
Outdoor gas has become a proper category of work rather than an afterthought. A dedicated BBQ point means no more wrestling with bottles, and a permanent line to an outdoor kitchen or a patio heater is tidier and safer than a hose stretched across the decking.

The catch? Outdoor lines want doing before the paving, decking or rendering goes in. If an alfresco area is on your plans for your place, get the gas run sized and installed while the ground is still open. Retrofitting later is the same work plus demolition.

Heating matters more up in the hills around Paulls Valley. Mornings run colder than they do on the plain, so gas heating gets a longer and harder season here – and the appliances show it. A pre-winter service is a better idea here than almost anywhere else in the metro area.

Hot Water Systems Paulls Valley

Running Out of Hot Water Too Soon?
If the hot water at your home runs out halfway through the second shower, your tank probably isn’t too small. On an electric storage system, a failed lower element leaves the upper element heating only the top portion of the tank – so you still get hot water, you just get far less of it than you used to.

It’s the symptom most often misread as \”we need a bigger unit\”, and it’s worth getting checked before you spend on a replacement. An element is a modest repair. A new system is not.

Cold mornings around Paulls Valley make the hot water system work harder for more of the year, and if the unit sits somewhere exposed the losses are real. It also means a failure in July gets noticed immediately. Where a property runs on bottled LPG, the gas side of the changeover needs pricing as well.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great service from Jarod who arrived on time was friendly and efficient . Completed the job and left the place clean. Quote was higher than the invoice paid as Jarod realised did not need to use the air pressure machine. So charged accordingly . Reception was great explaining on detail what would need to be done . Defiantly recommend and will use again .
